Sunny Deol’s Next Film Renamed as ‘Batwara 1947’, Release Date Announced

Bollywood action star Sunny Deol, who recently scored a blockbuster with ‘Border-2’, is now working on his upcoming film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film, originally titled ‘Lahore 1947’, is now officially renamed as ‘Batwara 1947’. The movie is being produced by Aamir Khan, and the title change was finalized after recent discussions and rights issues.

Sunny Deol announced the new title and release date through his social media, along with a motion poster. The film is set for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026. The story is based on the Partition of India and features an ensemble cast including Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Karan Deol, and Preity Zinta, who is making a comeback with this film.
