Cinema is more than just entertainment it is a blend of passion, effort, and emotion. This sentiment was evident at the Hindi trailer launch event of Raja Shivaji held in Mumbai.
Actor Riteish Deshmukh, who has long dreamed of bringing the life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to the big screen, is both the director and lead actor of the film.
During the trailer launch, Riteish became emotional while addressing the audience. He spoke about the years of dedication behind the project and said he feels the blessings of his late father Vilasrao Deshmukh throughout this journey. He also dedicated the film to his father. His wife Genelia Deshmukh, who stood beside him on stage, was also moved to tears, reflecting on the struggles and hard work he went through for the film. The emotional moment deeply touched everyone present at the event.
Prominent Bollywood actors including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, and Vidya Balan attended the event and appreciated the team. Salman Khan will also appear in a key role as Jeeva Mahala. The trailer’s visuals and Ankit Menon’s music have generated strong interest. The film, made in Marathi and Hindi, is set for a worldwide release on May 1, 2026. Trade analysts expect it to perform strongly at the box office as a tribute to a legendary warrior.
