Ranveer Singh Injured Himself for a Scene in Lootera; Airlifted to Hospital

Actor Ranveer Singh once went to extreme lengths to make a film scene look realistic. The incident reportedly took place during the climax shoot of the 2013 film Lootera, in which his character gets shot. According to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who produced the film, Ranveer wanted to understand the physical sensation of being shot so that he could portray the pain more convincingly on screen. Kashyap recalled the incident during an interview with MissMalini.

Without informing anyone on the sets, Ranveer allegedly took a clip and pressed it firmly against his abdomen to recreate the pain. He kept his discomfort to himself, and the seriousness of the situation went unnoticed until he could no longer move. The film crew eventually had to arrange a helicopter to take him to the hospital. Kashyap was reportedly shocked by the extent to which the actor went for a single scene. The incident highlights Ranveer's intense approach to portraying his character, although such attempts at self-injury can be extremely dangerous.
