Acclaimed filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s prestigious project “Varanasi” has generated massive buzz across the country. As the film gears up for a global release, questions have been raised about whether the story is being altered to suit international audiences. Addressing this in a recent interview, Rajamouli clarified that the strength of his storytelling lies in Indian culture and local emotions. He emphasized that he sees no need to modify his narrative style solely for global appeal and is continuing with the same approach that brought him success in the past.
Rajamouli further stated that it is not language but honesty and emotional depth in storytelling that connects with audiences worldwide. He believes that authentic local stories can resonate universally when presented naturally. The film stars superstar Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles and is currently progressing at a brisk pace. Backed by advanced technical standards and grand production values, “Varanasi” is being planned for a worldwide release on April 7, 2027, with expectations already soaring high.
