The Knight Riders Group, co-owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first global cricket franchise to build and operate its own international-standard cricket stadium in the United States. The stadium officially opened in Los Angeles with the Major League Cricket (MLC) match between Los Angeles Knight Riders and Washington Freedom. The project is being seen as a major step toward promoting cricket across the United States and expanding the sport’s global reach.
Built to international standards, the stadium features eight professional pitches, ICC-compliant ground dimensions, six 120-foot floodlight towers, and world-class facilities for players and spectators. Shah Rukh Khan described the project as the realization of a long-cherished dream, saying it is more than just a cricket stadium and will serve as a hub for families, fans, and the local community. Knight Riders Sports CEO Venky Mysore said the venue reflects the group's long-term commitment to cricket’s global growth. Major League Cricket matches will be held at the stadium from July 1 to July 5, marking another important chapter in the sport’s expansion in the USA.
