Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Raja Saab’, directed by Maruthi, is generating strong buzz across social media. Known for large-scale films, the actor’s foray into the horror-comedy genre has already driven curiosity among fans. Now, the film’s rumored runtime has become the latest topic of discussion.
Reports suggest that the movie could run for nearly 3 hours and 15 minutes, surprising some and concerning others. Horror comedies typically work best when they remain crisp and under two and a half hours, which has made this rumored duration a point of debate among industry watchers.
While long runtimes have worked for emotionally driven or action-heavy films like ‘Arjun Reddy’, ‘RRR’, and ‘Animal’, sustaining audience engagement for over three hours in a horror-comedy is considered challenging. Analysts believe even minor lags could affect the film’s flow.
Insiders claim that Prabhas’ vintage look, fan-pleasing elements, flashback portions, and musical numbers might have contributed to the extended runtime. However, editing changes are likely before the final censor version.
Interestingly, US bookings have already opened. Although fewer shows per day are expected due to the long runtime, distributors opening bookings early indicates confidence in the film’s output.
As of now, the reported duration remains speculative. The final runtime will be confirmed only after censor formalities. Meanwhile, the runtime chatter has become a trending topic among fans and moviegoers.
