

Kannada star actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty mesmerized audiences across India with Kantara, blending coastal Karnataka traditions and folklore with powerful human emotions. The recently released prequel Kantara: Chapter 1 also turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. Now, Shetty has received a rare international honour. He will attend the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2026 in Australia as a chief guest, where he will be presented with the ‘Leadership in Cinema’ award for his outstanding contribution to the film industry.
Expressing his happiness, Rishab Shetty said that showcasing Indian culture and traditions to the world gives him immense satisfaction. He added that it is a matter of pride that stories rooted in Indian soil are being appreciated globally. On the work front, he is currently busy with multiple big projects, including a key role in Jai Hanuman, directed by Prashanth Varma, and playing the lead in The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Both films are slated for release next year.
