Devotional film Hanuman Anshh is creating a surprising wave at the box office, with trade circles highlighting the strategic distribution strategy adopted by leading multiplex chain Cinépolis. The film initially released on just 300 screens and collected around ₹90 lakh during its first week. However, the strong response from audiences and positive word of mouth encouraged exhibitors to retain the film and continue its theatrical run.
The decision has reportedly worked in the film’s favour, with Hanuman Anshh now expanding to more than 2,500 screens. Despite being made on a relatively modest budget, the film is rapidly approaching the ₹200 crore collection milestone. Its unusual growth from a limited release to a wide theatrical presence is being viewed as a notable development in the exhibition business, with the film emerging as an example of how strong audience response can influence a movie’s box office journey.
