For a long time, theatres across Tamil Nadu have been screening movie shows only from 9 AM, with early morning screenings remaining suspended due to security concerns. The decision was taken after a tragic incident during the Thunivu and Varisu release clash, in which a fan lost his life. Since then, the government has not permitted shows before 9 AM. However, the latest buzz in Kollywood circles suggests that this long-standing restriction could soon see a change, with Suriya’s upcoming film Scene reportedly being considered for early morning shows. If the reports turn out to be true, the film could mark the return of the early morning show culture in Tamil Nadu, bringing back a tradition that was once a major part of big-star film releases.
The film has already generated interest among fans, and the possibility of early morning screenings is adding to the excitement. Nazriya Fahadh plays the female lead, while Naslen is set to appear as the antagonist. The big-budget entertainer is jointly produced by Suriya, Jithu Madhavan and Zhagaram Studios, with music composed by Sushin Shyam. Scene is scheduled to release in theatres on November 6. However, there has been no official confirmation yet regarding the permission for early morning shows. If approved, the move could benefit the film’s opening-day collections and bring renewed excitement to Tamil cinema’s theatrical celebrations.
