Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav walked out of Tihar Jail after the Delhi High Court granted him interim bail in a cheque bounce case. The actor spent 13 days in jail and was granted bail until March 18 after depositing Rs 1.5 crore into the complainant’s bank account as directed by the court. The court also ordered him to surrender his passport, restricting him from leaving the country without permission. Speaking to the media after his release, Yadav thanked the High Court and expressed gratitude to audiences and supporters for their continued encouragement.
The case relates to a financial dispute worth Rs 9 crore dating back to 2010, when Yadav reportedly borrowed Rs 5 crore from Murali Projects Pvt. Ltd. to finance his film Ata Pata Paapata. After the film failed at the box office, he faced heavy debt and issued several cheques for repayment, which later bounced, leading to legal proceedings. Several film personalities, including Salman Khan, Priyadarshan, Sonu Sood, and Gurmeet Choudhary, reportedly extended financial support to him. However, the legal case is still ongoing despite the interim bail.
