After being the victim of a coordinated online harassment campaign, actress Anupama Parameswaran has filed a lawsuit. The actress reported to the Kerala Cyber Crime Police that a number of phony social media profiles had been set up to disseminate altered images and untrue statements about her, her relatives, and friends in the movie business. Anupama revealed in a heartfelt Instagram post that she became aware of the problem after an account started sharing false and inappropriate content, which greatly upset her.
Authorities discovered a 20-year-old Tamil Nadu woman who was allegedly responsible for several phony profiles as a result of the investigation. Despite the results, Anupama decided to keep the young woman's identity a secret out of compassion and worry for her future. She made it clear that her goal was to increase awareness of the negative effects of online abuse rather than to destroy someone's life. "Anyone who has access to social media does not have the right to harass or disparage other people. She urged users to behave responsibly in digital spaces, writing, "Every online act leaves a trace, and accountability will follow."
Anupama discussed the psychological effects of hate speech online and emphasized the significance of upholding cyber laws and maintaining one's dignity, even as a public figure. She emphasized that no one should be subjected to such treatment and that cyberbullying is a crime. On the plus side, Anupama's career trajectory in 2025 is still remarkable, as evidenced by hits like Dragon, Kishkindhapuri, JSK, The Pet Detective, and Bison. She continues to strike a balance between success on-screen and resiliency off-screen as she prepares for her upcoming Tamil release, Lockdown.
