Responding to the reports, Bachchan shared a newspaper clipping and explained the context behind his statement. He said that when he wrote about it being very late at night and being time to “retire”, he meant that it was time to go to sleep. He expressed his displeasure at the interpretation that turned the statement into news about ending his acting career. Bachchan made it clear that he remains enthusiastic about working and is continuing with his professional commitments.
