

The Sri Kala Sudha Telugu Association, founded on November 21, 1998, in Chennai to promote and celebrate Telugu culture, is completing 27 years of service. To mark this milestone, the association will present the 28th Ugadi Awards on the occasion of Parabhava Nama Samvatsara Ugadi. The grand awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 4:29 PM at the Music Academy in Chennai. During the event, awards such as Mahila Ratna, Bapu Bomma, Bapu – Ramana, Vishishta Ugadi Awards and Cine Awards – 2025 will be presented to actors, directors, producers and technicians from films released in 2025. Women who have achieved excellence in different fields will also be honored with the Mahila Ratna Award.

The event will be attended by several distinguished guests. Dr. Brahmasani Chandrasekhar will attend as the Chief Guest, while MVR Murali Krishna will be the Guest of Honour. A. Sai Prasad, Sahu Garapati, Shashikanth Valleppalli, Muba Padmaiah, Rajamouli Sheern and Saroj Vivekanand will participate as Special Guests. The Vasishta Ugadi Award for Public Service will be presented to Andhra Pradesh Tourism and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh. The Mahila Ratna Award will be given to Mrs. Mamatha Madireddy, while the Andesri Memorial Award will be presented to Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose. The PB Srinivas Award will be given to music director Devi Sri Prasad for the film Thandrini.
In the Ugadi Cine Awards 2025, Mirai won Best Film, while Sankranthiki Vasthunnam received the Best Sensational Film award and Dude won the Best Jury Award. Akkineni Naga Chaitanya was named Best Actor and Rashmika Mandanna won Best Actress. Anil Ravipudi received the Best Director award. Other winners include Mahesh Babu P (Best Dialogue Writer), Niketh Bommi (Best Cinematographer), Diksith Shetty (Best Villain) and Bheems Ceciroleo (Best Music Director). Ram Jagadish won Best Debut Director, Harsh Roshan received Best Debut Actor and Keeriti Reddy was named Best New Hero. Ramana Gogula and Haripriya won awards for Best Male Singer and Best Female Singer. Other winners include Aishwarya Arjun, Anaswara Rajan and Sakshi Madolkar as Best New Actresses, Rahul Ravindran for Best Dialogues and Director and Bulli Raju as Best Child Artist. The organizers said the Ugadi Awards ceremony will celebrate achievements in cinema and honor talented personalities from different fields while strengthening the pride and cultural identity of the Telugu community.
