As Nandamuri Balakrishna’s highly awaited action entertainer Akhanda 2 gears up for release, the international market is buzzing with excitement. Moksha Movies and CineGalaxy, two renowned distribution companies that have managed several significant Telugu releases in the US, have acquired the film's overseas and North American distribution rights. This is a significant development. The overseas rights were sold for approximately ₹15 crore, according to industry sources, making it one of the largest international deals for a Balakrishna movie to date.
According to reports, the North American breakeven target has been set at about $2.5 million, which trade experts think is doable given Akhanda's enormous popularity (2021). Boyapati Sreenu's reputation as a master of high-voltage action dramas was greatly enhanced by the original film, which became a huge cult hit among Balayya fans. Given Balakrishna’s strong overseas fan base and the sequel’s grand scale, trade circles are expecting Akhanda 2 to generate huge opening numbers across global markets.
From production scale and visual grandeur to its pan-Indian release strategy, distributors are sure that Akhanda 2 will outperform its predecessor in every way. The hype will only increase as the film, which is presently in post-production, is anticipated to launch its marketing campaign shortly. Akhanda 2 might break Balakrishna's worldwide box office records if it does well in foreign markets. Expectations are already extremely high for the eagerly awaited fantasy-action-drama, which is scheduled for release on December 5, 2025.
