World Without Rules Like an Intersection Without Traffic Signals - Xi Jinping

Chinese President Xi Jinping said a world without rules would be like an intersection without traffic signals, warning that such a situation would inevitably lead to chaos. Speaking at the closing session of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, he called on BRICS to leverage its close ties with the Global South to safeguard supply chains and promote an integrated market. He also proposed a five-point plan to strengthen cooperation in trade, manufacturing, investment and technology.

Xi called for an end to the notion that might makes right and urged BRICS leaders to open a new chapter in Global South unity. He said all countries are equal on the global stage regardless of their size, strength or wealth, and that international rules should be formulated collectively. He urged Global South nations to ensure that international laws apply equally to all countries. Xi also called for strengthening the authority and role of the United Nations in global affairs and ensuring equal participation for all nations.
