

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently invited suggestions from the public for naming the upcoming Warangal Mamunur Airport. Responding to his appeal, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga expressed happiness over an international airport coming up in his hometown and suggested two names — Rudrama International Airport (RIA) and Kakatiya International Airport (KIA). He said a name reflecting Warangal’s rich heritage and cultural identity would be meaningful and thanked the Chief Minister for his efforts towards making the airport a reality.
Director Srikanth Odela also welcomed the development, describing Warangal as more than just a location on the map and highlighting its historical, cultural and spiritual significance. He suggested the name Sammakka-Sarakkka International Airport. Meanwhile, producer Dil Raju’s production banner Sri Venkateswara Creations welcomed the proposed airport, stating that it could boost regional development and create more opportunities for film shootings in and around Warangal. Actor and producer Bandla Ganesh also suggested naming it Rani Rudrama Devi International Airport, Warangal.
