Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, has once again demanded the complete abolition of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). The party urged the Central Government to restore full authority over medical admissions to state governments, arguing that a uniform national entrance examination is not in the best interest of students across diverse states.
The party stated that NEET has lost its credibility amid recent controversies and alleged irregularities, adding that the examination is placing immense mental stress on students. TVK also condemned the arrest of Rahul Gandhi during a protest held in support of students, describing it as an attack on democratic rights and freedom of expression.
