The word “mother” represents endless love, sacrifice, and care. Every year, the second Sunday of May is celebrated worldwide as Mother’s Day to honor mothers and remember their invaluable role in our lives. The day serves as a reminder of a mother’s unconditional love and the sacrifices she makes for her children and family.
The modern celebration of Mother’s Day began because of the efforts of Anna Jarvis from the United States. To honor her mother’s ideals and recognize the contributions of mothers, she campaigned for a special day dedicated to them. As a result, in 1914, the US government officially declared the second Sunday of May as Mother’s Day, and the tradition later spread across the world.
A mother is the heart of every family, caring for everyone with affection and dedication. She becomes the first teacher of a child, guiding them with values, discipline, and kindness. Elders say Mother’s Day should not be limited to gifts or social media posts, but should be about spending time with mothers, valuing their feelings, and expressing gratitude for everything they do. Caring for elderly parents with love is considered the greatest gift of all.
