Weather Department Warns of Rain in Andhra Pradesh

The Amaravati Meteorological Centre has forecast light to moderate rainfall across Andhra Pradesh and Yanam over the next three days. The weather department said thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are likely in several areas, with a possibility of lightning strikes in some districts. People have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions during thunderstorms.

North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh are likely to receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers at one or two places today, tomorrow and the day after. Strong winds of 40–50 kmph are also expected. Rainfall activity is likely to continue in Rayalaseema, where moderate rain or showers may occur at one or two places. Several parts of the state are already witnessing rainfall. The weather department has also noted that rainfall remains below normal under the influence of El Niño.
