The counting process for the Assembly elections held last month in four states and the Union Territory of Puducherry has officially begun. Elections were conducted in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry, drawing significant political attention.
As counting progresses, all eyes are on the results that will determine which parties form governments in these regions. Political parties and candidates are closely monitoring the trends as votes are being tallied across counting centers.
To form a government, a party or alliance must secure a majority in each Assembly. West Bengal requires 148 seats out of 294, Tamil Nadu needs 118 out of 234, Kerala requires 71 out of 140, Assam needs 64 out of 126, and Puducherry requires 16 out of 30 seats to achieve a majority.
