

Director Merlapaka Gandhi has responded to the controversy surrounding a scene in his upcoming film Korean Kanakaraju, which has drawn criticism from a section of NTR’s fans. Gandhi clarified that the intention behind the scene was purely to imitate and pay reference to the legendary actor, and that there was absolutely no intention to insult or belittle him.
Gandhi said that the team has imitated several iconic stars, including Chiranjeevi and Shah Rukh Khan, and reiterated that such references were made only in an entertaining manner. He emphasized that someone as legendary as NTR is not a person they would ever want to disrespect. According to the director, certain sections on social media are exaggerating the issue, while the filmmakers never intended to hurt anyone’s sentiments.
Korean Kanakaraju stars Varun Tej in the lead role, with Ritika Nayak and Satya in key roles. The film is directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, with music by Thaman S and cinematography by Manojh Reddy.
