The Tata Nano, envisioned by Ratan Tata as an affordable car that could make car ownership accessible to ordinary families, may make a comeback in a new avatar. Tata Motors India Design Head Ajay Jain has hinted at the possibility of reintroducing the iconic Nano as an electric car, although no official launch details have been announced yet.
The Tata Nano entered the Indian market in 2009 and became globally known as the world’s most affordable car, with an introductory price of around ₹1 lakh. However, the model struggled to attract sustained consumer interest and was eventually discontinued. Its possible return as an EV could give the iconic nameplate a fresh opportunity in India’s growing electric vehicle market.
