The Telangana High Court has sought a detailed report from the Director General of Police (DGP) over allegations that BRS MLAs were prevented by police personnel from proceeding to the Assembly. The petition was filed by the BRS, challenging the alleged action against its legislators. During the hearing, the court questioned how police could stop elected representatives who were on their way to attend the Assembly proceedings and raised questions about the role of police within the Assembly premises.
The court also directed the authorities to identify those allegedly responsible for attacking the BRS women MLAs during the incident. The DGP has been instructed to submit a report on the matter within two weeks. The developments come amid a political dispute between the BRS and the Telangana government over the alleged police action against opposition legislators.
