Telangana Government Plans to Auction HYDRA Lands

The Telangana government is exploring the sale of HYDRA lands and other unused government properties as part of its efforts to strengthen the state's financial resources. The Cabinet Sub-Committee on resource mobilisation has reportedly decided to focus on auctioning land parcels that are free from legal disputes and are currently lying unutilised. The proposed auctions are expected to be conducted through the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).

According to sources, the sub-committee has assigned monthly revenue targets of ₹1,000 crore each to TGIIC and HMDA, aiming to mobilise ₹2,000 crore every month through land auctions. While HMDA is understood to have expressed reservations over achieving such an ambitious target, the sub-committee reportedly maintained its stand, emphasising the need to accelerate resource mobilisation for the state's developmental and financial requirements.
