Telangana Directors Suggest Names for Warangal Airport

Several film personalities have responded to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s appeal for suggestions on naming the upcoming Mamunur airport in Warangal. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga expressed happiness over an airport coming up in his hometown and suggested two names — ‘Rudrama International Airport’ (RIA) and ‘Kakatiya International Airport’ (KIA). He said a name reflecting Warangal’s rich heritage and cultural legacy would be meaningful.

Meanwhile, ‘Dasara’ and ‘The Paradise’ director Srikanth Odela suggested ‘Sammakka-Saralamma International Airport’, highlighting Warangal’s historical, cultural and spiritual significance. Producer Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations said the airport could boost regional development and create more opportunities for film shoots around Warangal. Actor-producer Bandla Ganesh suggested the name ‘Rani Rudrama Devi International Airport, Warangal’. The final name of the airport has not yet been decided.
