Srinagar has emerged as one of the most sought-after travel destinations this summer, prompting domestic airlines to significantly increase flight services. According to the latest data released by aviation analytics platform OAG, airlines including Air India, IndiGo, and Akasa Air have added more than two lakh additional seats on the Delhi–Srinagar route compared to the same period last year. The route witnessed a 35 percent increase in seating capacity, while ticket prices surged by up to 40 percent on certain days due to strong demand.
The report also highlighted changes in international travel trends. Due to rising aviation fuel costs linked to tensions in West Asia, airlines have shifted capacity toward high-demand routes such as London. Compared to June 2025, airlines increased seat availability by 15 percent on the Delhi–London Heathrow route and by 12 percent on the Mumbai–London Heathrow route. Meanwhile, Mumbai–Delhi remained India's busiest air route with 6.58 lakh seats, followed by Bengaluru–Delhi with 4.31 lakh seats.
