The Southwest Monsoon is gradually advancing towards the northern regions and conditions remain favorable for its further progress, according to Visakhapatnam Meteorological Department official Jagannadha Kumar. He stated that the monsoon is expected to extend into parts of Rayalaseema and South Andhra Pradesh over the next two to three days.
The weather department expects the monsoon to cover the entire state by June 15. Officials clarified that there is no fixed rule requiring the monsoon to arrive on the same date every year. Over the next week, scattered rainfall is likely in several parts of the state, while temperatures may remain slightly above normal. Heatwave conditions are also expected in a few regions during the next five days, prompting people to take necessary precautions.
