Creating a new chapter in the nation's history, the state of Sikkim has emerged as the country's first paperless judiciary. Justice Surya Kant officially announced this achievement during an event held in Gangtok. This milestone was reached through the complete implementation of digital processes within the court system.
This new approach is expected to expedite the adjudication of cases and the processing of documents. Experts opine that, in addition to reducing paper consumption, this initiative will enhance both transparency and efficiency in court operations. The utilization of digital technology is set to make the judicial system even more effective.
Sikkim has taken a pioneering step forward, serving as a model for other states across the country. It is anticipated that, through the expanded use of technology, many more courts are likely to adopt a paperless system in the future.
