House Site Pattas for Every Eligible Person - Chandrababu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure that every eligible person in the state receives either a house or a house-site patta. He reviewed housing construction, house-site pattas for the poor and regularisation of house sites at the 8th District Collectors’ Conference held in Amaravati today. Officials informed him that 1.43 lakh people have so far been identified as eligible for house site pattas, while another 1.26 lakh applications are under scrutiny. They said the verification would be completed by October 15. Land has already been identified in 1,692 villages to provide pattas to around 18,000 people. The Chief Minister asked officials to prepare a clear list of those who need new pattas and those whose house sites require regularisation.

Officials told Chandrababu that 5.92 lakh houses have been completed across Andhra Pradesh, while another 5.32 lakh houses are under construction at various stages. He directed officials to complete all ongoing houses by March next year and hand them over to beneficiaries. He also ordered the preparation of a time bound action plan for house construction and patta distribution and asked officials to submit a comprehensive plan within 10 days. District collectors were instructed to give top priority to the issue and ensure continuous monitoring, while district in-charge ministers were asked to coordinate with officials and help implement the targets within the stipulated deadlines.
