

A severe heatwave has gripped Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with temperatures soaring up to 46°C in several regions. The government has issued a heatwave alert for 301 mandals in Telangana, putting nearly 16 million people at risk. In Andhra Pradesh, 17 districts recorded temperatures above 40°C, with Nellore (46.2°C), Prakasam (46.1°C), and Tirupati (45.6°C) among the hottest. Authorities have urged people to take precautions as extreme heat conditions continue to intensify.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has forecast relief in the form of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next two days. Heavy rainfall is expected in districts like Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Warangal, and Hanamkonda, with winds reaching up to 50 kmph. In Mancherial, strong winds and heavy rain caused damage, uprooting trees and disrupting normal life temporarily.
