BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu has alleged that his convoy was attacked while he was travelling from Amritsar to Pathankot to attend the launch of the party’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’. The alleged incident took place near Ghaseetpura village, close to Batala. Bittu claimed that his security team apprehended three people and alleged that they were linked to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Bittu further alleged that a local MLA, identified by him as Sherry, had sent the individuals to prevent him from participating in the yatra. These allegations have not been independently verified in the reports available so far. Bittu has called for an immediate investigation by the Punjab government and sought adequate security for political leaders and workers.
