A brief period of concern unfolded at the Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, after an alarm was triggered over the possible presence of hazardous materials. Authorities immediately initiated precautionary measures, imposing lockdowns in several floors and corridors of the building.
Officials also evacuated personnel from certain sections of the complex while inspection teams assessed the situation. A Pentagon spokesperson later clarified that the issue was related to air quality concerns. After completing safety checks and confirming there was no ongoing threat, authorities reopened the affected areas and resumed normal operations.
