

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Minister Pawan Kalyan met Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi. During the meeting, discussions were held on various rural development initiatives being implemented in Andhra Pradesh, including innovative “Magic Drain” and water tank construction projects. The Union Minister appreciated these programs and praised the transparency of social audits being conducted under the state government.
Impressed by the initiatives, Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed his officials to consider implementing the “Magic Drain” model in his own constituency. Pawan Kalyan also requested the Union Minister to consider Andhra Pradesh for the national launch of the VBJ Ramji scheme on July 1. He recalled the launch of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme from Anantapur in 2006. The Union Minister accepted the invitation and agreed to attend the national launch event in Andhra Pradesh.
