Olectra Greentech Limited has achieved a major milestone in India's electric mobility sector by becoming the first company to deploy 4,000 electric buses on Indian roads. The achievement strengthens Olectra's position as a leader in sustainable public transportation. The company's 4,000th electric bus was handed over to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri by Olectra Managing Director Mahesh Babu.
During the event, the Himachal Pradesh government also flagged off 297 Olectra electric buses purchased for the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC). Olectra's fleet has collectively covered over 730 million green kilometres, reducing more than 650,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. Mahesh Babu said the milestone reflects the growing trust of public transport agencies in electric mobility and marks a proud achievement for India's EV ecosystem.
