

Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy met Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in Hyderabad and held crucial discussions regarding the Sammakka–Sarakka Lift Irrigation Project. The Chhattisgarh CM, who arrived in the city on Thursday night, was formally received by the minister at Park Hyatt. Later, Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with senior irrigation department officials, participated in a detailed review meeting with the Chhattisgarh CM on the project being constructed along the Telangana–Chhattisgarh border.
During the meeting, the Telangana government formally requested the grant of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the project. The minister emphasized that the Sammakka–Sarakka project is vital for providing irrigation water to thousands of acres in North Telangana and ensuring long-term water security for farmers. He highlighted the state’s proactive approach in securing inter-state clearances and urged the Chhattisgarh government to respond positively. The Telangana government continues to push forward with the project, prioritizing farmers’ welfare and expediting pending approvals through diplomatic efforts.
