A rare and intricately woven matchbox-sized silk saree was offered to the presiding deity by Nalla Vijay Kumar, a renowned handloom artisan from Sirisilla, Telangana. The unique saree was presented to Temple Trust Board Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu in the presence of Trust Board member Kode Kanthivardhini. Woven over a period of seven days on a traditional handloom, the saree measures 5.5 metres in length, 48 inches in width, and weighs approximately 200 grams. Designed in the traditional Ikat pattern, the saree can be folded neatly to fit inside a small matchbox.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Kumar said the creation was made with the blessings of the Goddess and the support of his family members. Appreciating the artisan's exceptional craftsmanship, Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu said the saree reflects the remarkable skill and creativity of India's handloom weavers. He noted that handloom is not merely a profession but a rich cultural tradition passed down through generations and urged people to support handloom products. The temple also arranged a special darshan for Vijay Kumar and his team in recognition of their contribution.
