Several key wings of the Telangana Police are functioning under in charge officers, raising concerns about supervision and the pace of investigations. Senior officials point out that some officers have been holding multiple responsibilities simultaneously, while important departments such as the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Cyber Security Bureau, and Forensic Science Laboratory continue to operate without full time heads. This situation is reportedly affecting administrative efficiency and monitoring of sensitive cases.
Concerns have intensified following allegations involving a Cyber Security Bureau inspector, who was accused of demanding a bribe of ₹30 lakh. Former police officials believe such incidents highlight gaps in oversight. While the government has appointed full time officers in some departments, several crucial posts remain under additional charge arrangements. Officials indicate that a shortage of senior IPS officers and administrative pressures are among the reasons for delays in filling these positions.
