Kerala Government Orders Probe Against Pinarayi Vijayan’s Family

The Kerala government has ordered a police inquiry into allegations involving former Chief Minister and current Leader of Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena T and son in law P. A. Mohamed Riyas. The action follows a report submitted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning alleged financial transactions between Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) and Veena’s now defunct company, Exalogic Solutions.

The ED has alleged that payments made by CMRL to Exalogic in the name of service charges were not backed by corresponding services and recommended action under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The Kerala government examined the report and directed the state police to proceed with an inquiry. Vijayan and Riyas have denied wrongdoing, while the allegations remain subject to investigation.
