Kargil War Veteran Attacked in Gurugram Over Parking Dispute

Retired Indian Air Force Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta, a veteran of the 1999 Kargil War and a member of the IAF’s Operation Safed Sagar team, was allegedly assaulted by a parking attendant at Magnum Global Park in Gurugram. The incident reportedly took place on September 10 when Gupta had arrived at the premises with his family for dinner. A dispute allegedly broke out after parking staff directed him between different parking areas.

According to Gupta’s complaint, when he attempted to reverse his car, a parking attendant allegedly struck the vehicle and later attacked him with an iron rod after he stepped out to object. Gupta suffered a serious head injury and a fracture to his elbow/left arm and was taken to a private hospital for treatment. He has also alleged that the attacker threatened to kill him. Police have registered an FIR, reviewed CCTV footage and identified the accused. The investigation is underway.
