Meghana, daughter-in-law of former YSRCP minister Jogi Ramesh, has sought protection for herself and her parents, alleging that she faces a threat to their lives from her in-laws, including Jogi Ramesh, Shakuntala, her husband Rajeev and other family members. Meghana met Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday along with her father Anantha Krishna Goud and submitted a representation seeking protection and immediate action against those who allegedly harassed her directly or indirectly.
In her complaint, Meghana alleged that her parents had spent around ₹5 crore on her marriage and that her in-laws later began demanding an additional ₹5 crore as dowry, along with expensive cars, a diamond necklace and a diamond ring. She also alleged that during a trip to Goa, her husband attempted to push her into the water from a boat despite knowing that she could not swim. Meghana said the Governor responded positively to her representation and advised her to consider transferring the case to Telangana.
