Indiramma Housing Scheme: Housing Board to Refund Deposits to Rejected Applicants

The Telangana Housing Board is set to begin refunding the ₹10,000 deposits paid by applicants who were not selected under the Indiramma Housing Scheme. Applicants had paid the amount as a security deposit while submitting their applications. The Housing Board reportedly conducted a detailed verification using information obtained from departments including Revenue, Transport and GHMC. Of the 60,720 applications received from 16 constituencies, around 40,000 applicants were found ineligible during the initial scrutiny. The deposits of these applicants are expected to be credited back to their respective bank accounts from Friday.

Officials conducting field verification also found that several selected beneficiaries had entered incorrect mobile phone numbers in their applications. Following requests from applicants, the Housing Board has enabled an option on its official website to update mobile numbers. Selected applicants can access their applications using their application or Aadhaar number and make the required changes. Meanwhile, field-level verification of selected beneficiaries is underway, with around 5,500 families reportedly surveyed so far. The survey is expected to conclude within another two days, after which the final list will be uploaded on the website. The list for Khairatabad constituency was uploaded on Wednesday night after officials conducted additional verification of applicants’ local status amid concerns raised during the lottery process.
