Hyderabad Police Book Cases Over Objectionable Posts on Ganesh Immersion

Hyderabad police have stepped up security and surveillance ahead of the Ganesh immersion festivities. Cases have been registered against individuals for allegedly sharing objectionable posts and videos related to the immersion on social media platforms. Police have also booked four people over dangerous stunts during the celebrations. Authorities are taking precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents during the immersion processions.

Meanwhile, SHE Teams have intensified their surveillance to ensure the safety of women during the Ganesh festivities. Special teams have been deployed at Khairatabad and Balapur to monitor incidents of eve-teasing and harassment and take necessary action. Police have so far taken 1,530 people into custody and counselled 724 of them before releasing them, according to the authorities. Police have urged citizens to follow safety guidelines and refrain from circulating objectionable or provocative content during the festivities.
