

A trough extending from the central Bay of Bengal to Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana is expected to trigger thunderstorms and scattered rainfall across several districts on Thursday, according to the State Disaster Management Authority Managing Director Prakhar Jain. Officials have warned that lightning-associated rains are likely in many regions.
Light to moderate showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected in Rayalaseema, Markapuram, and several districts including Alluri Sitarama Raju, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam, and Nellore. Meanwhile, strong winds and storm activity were reported in parts of Visakhapatnam district’s Pendurthi mandal, causing widespread disruption including fallen electricity poles and uprooted trees.
