BRS Legislature Party Deputy Leader Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government has weakened Singareni through corruption and irregularities. Speaking at a Singareni Protection Conference organized by the Telangana Coal Mine Workers Union, he questioned Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy's silence on the issue and demanded a probe by central agencies. Harish Rao said the BRS is ready to provide evidence if an investigation is conducted.
He noted that the Central Government holds a 49 percent stake in Singareni and said accountability should not be ignored. Harish Rao also claimed that during the BRS government, 19,500 dependent jobs were provided, while recruitment has slowed under the present administration. He further alleged that Telangana’s water interests are being compromised and questioned the Centre’s response to inter state water project proposals.
