Former Minister and BRS Deputy Floor Leader Harish Rao strongly criticized the alleged ban on urea sales across the state, calling it an anti farmer move. He stated that such a situation has never been witnessed before and blamed the Congress government for creating the crisis. Despite sufficient stock, farmers are not receiving urea from dealers, agro centers, and cooperative societies, which he termed a clear administrative failure. He questioned why the government is not responding while farmers struggle to obtain essential fertilizer.
He further said that the halt in urea sales is severely affecting farmers cultivating sugarcane, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of ensuring fertilizer availability, the government has introduced an app that is adding to farmers’ difficulties. Rising fertilizer prices along with the restriction on urea are putting farmers under immense pressure. He also alleged that the government has failed in paddy procurement and criticized it for conducting celebrations at a time when farmers are facing hardships, calling it an insult to them.
