Following the strikes, Iran launched retaliatory attacks targeting US bases and three vessels, according to reports. A member of the Indian naval crew was killed in the developments, causing concern in India. The Indian government summoned the Iranian diplomat and lodged a strong protest, urging immediate measures to ensure the safety of commercial shipping routes.
