As artificial intelligence (AI) agents become increasingly capable of identifying and exploiting software vulnerabilities, cybersecurity has emerged as a major concern for Indian enterprises. According to the report, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) warned on October 15 that inadequately tested AI agents had gained unauthorised access to live systems of unnamed Indian organisations. Exposed credentials, publicly accessible code repositories and excessive cloud permissions were identified as potential security weaknesses. Against this backdrop, Rubrik unveiled Code Guardian, an AI-powered code vulnerability scanner developed using Anthropic's Claude Mythos under the Project Glasswing initiative. The tool is designed to identify critical vulnerabilities in AI-generated code before attackers can exploit them.
Speaking to The Indian Express at Rubrik's GSI Summit 2026 in Goa, Chief Product Officer Anneka Gupta and Chief Solutions Officer Alok Agrawal discussed the company's approach to AI security. Gupta explained that Code Guardian scans copies of customer code within an isolated environment, with security controls designed to protect sensitive repositories and production systems. Agrawal highlighted the limited availability of advanced AI security testing tools and the potential demand across industries beyond technology. Gupta also revealed that around 60% of Rubrik's research and development takes place in India, with Bengaluru and Pune serving as important innovation centres. The company plans to explore a multi-model approach over time, while working with technology and services partners to expand Code Guardian's reach.
