Free Trade Agreements to Open New Job Avenues for Youth - PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with several countries are opening up new employment and career opportunities for the country’s youth. He said global confidence in Indian talent and skills is growing. Addressing the 20th Rozgar Mela virtually on September 19, Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth for various government organisations. He said FTAs with around 40 countries are creating new markets and partnerships for Indian entrepreneurs while expanding career possibilities for young people.

Modi said India is currently the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem and noted that nearly half of the country’s recognised startups are based in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. He said the youth will play a crucial role in achieving the vision of a developed India. The government, he added, is focusing on expanding opportunities for young people through employment, skill development, entrepreneurship and greater participation in the country’s development journey.
