Delhi Imposes Traffic Curbs Ahead of BRICS Summit

Delhi has tightened security and imposed traffic restrictions in view of the BRICS Summit. Traffic curbs will remain in place across several areas for three days. Around 30,000 police personnel have been deployed as part of the extensive security arrangements. The police have also set up a command and control centre to monitor the situation. Traffic diversions and restrictions will be implemented on 42 roads in Central Delhi.

As part of the security measures, several offices in Central Delhi have been closed, while the Delhi government has also announced a holiday for schools. Traffic will be regulated on routes leading to the summit venues. Authorities have urged commuters to use alternative routes and follow traffic police advisories during the summit period.
