Danam Nagender Says He Will Not Approach Supreme Court

Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender has said that he does not intend to approach the Supreme Court against the Telangana High Court’s decision disqualifying him as a member of the Legislative Assembly. Responding to the verdict in Hyderabad on Friday, Nagender said he respects the court’s decision and would face the issue through an electoral contest if an election is held.

The Telangana High Court on September 18 disqualified Nagender under the anti-defection law and set aside the order of Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar. The court also declared the Khairatabad Assembly seat vacant, paving the way for a fresh election. Nagender said contesting elections is not new to him and expressed his readiness to fight in the people’s court.
